Here’s some thoughts on what I’m watching this season for anime.
Gals Can’t Be Kind to Otaku!?

I’ve been reading the manga for this one. Nothing insane as a story, but very cute. Ichiji is my fav. She’s energetic, smart, and still absurdly responsible.
The opening song is REALLY good. Even as someone who doesn’t like K-pop that much, I REALLY find it appealing.
Mistress Kanan Is Devilishly Easy
I’ve been reading the manga for this one too. HYPER ecchi and raunchy, but they’re good at drawing hot ladies, so who am I to stop them?
was NOT expecting her to be voiced by Koga Aoi! The same voice as Kaguya-sama! Aristocrat tsunderes who crumple with a mote of affection (and have a gyaru maid bestie) seem to be her niche now haha. Honestly most of the VA styles were unexpected! Excited to see how this goes!
The Ending song, Pop Snack Junk Honey, is REALLY catchy! Also, I never noticed before how Jean’s Ahoge is a halo shape
Akane-banashi

It’s been SO long since I cried in episode 1 of a show, but Akane’s father channeling his wife during his performance really hit me close to home.
I think this story definetly works best as an anime, since character voices and mannerisms carry so well in this.
Witch Hat Atelier
I think this is the first of the more popular recent fantasy anime that’s captivated me. Owing largely to how the magic system is super fun!
A lot of recent anime magic systems don’t get into the details of how it works, nor it’s known limits. But the core conceit of this show’s system creates some SUPER interesting territory and limits to explore. Love the little ways tools are made from it (the boots of flight, as an example)
